Renzo Fratini (born 25 April 1944) is an Italian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church and diplomat of the Holy See. ==Biography== Renzo Fratini was born on 25 April 1944, in Urbisaglia, Italy, and was ordained priest on 6 September 1969 for the Diocese of Macerata-Tolentino. In 1970 he entered the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy to study diplomacy.〔(Pontificia Accademia Ecclesiastica Ex-alunni 1950 – 1999 )〕 He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See in 1974, and served in the Pontifical diplomatic missions in France, Japan, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Greece, Ecuador, Israel and the Palestinian Territories. On 7 August 1993 he was elected Titular Archbishop of Botriana, and at the same time named Apostolic Pro-Nuncio to Pakistan. He was consecrated bishop on 2 October 19983 Cardinal Angelo Sodano was the principal consecrator, and bishops Crescenzio Sepe and Francesco Tarcisio Carboni were principal co-consecrators. After Pakistan, Fratini served as Nuncio to Indonesia (8 August 1998 - 27 January 2004), as first Nuncio to East Timor (24 June 2003 - 27 January 2004); and Nuncio to Nigeria (27 January 2004 - 20 August 2009).
